"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" – we’ve all been told this growing up.
I think this saying is a good start but still falls woefully short of reality. It still assumes work and play are two separate things.
If Gamification research is proving one thing, it is that Work and Play are two sides of the same coin.
When work is fun and playful and game-like, it is much more productive.
Start treating games and playfulness as a necessary and inseparable ingredient of work, and watch how much more productive you become. Start treating your role as an educator with that same philosophy and see how much better your learners learn.
